Recon Astrophotography
A personal project shaped by the night sky
Light in the Dark
Recon Astrophotography is a record of learning to capture faint structures and light hidden in the night sky through photography, astronomy and an evolving technical setup.

The journey
The project began with simple experiments in photographing the night sky and short exposures that made every successful frame a lesson. Session by session, the work expanded into learning accurate tracking, careful mount setup, stacking and image processing.
Astrophotography brings photography, astronomy, technology and patience into one process. It reveals structures and light that cannot be seen with the unaided eye, while leaving room for constant learning and experimentation. As the equipment and workflow developed, guiding made longer and more consistent deep-sky sessions possible.
A turning point: guiding
One important step was moving from typical 20–30 second exposures to stable guided exposures of 120–180 seconds. That change made each frame more productive and opened the way to longer deep-sky sessions.

The present imaging chain combines a compact refractor and DSLR with an equatorial mount and a separate guiding system. Each component has a clear role, while the Equipment section keeps the detailed specifications in one place.
