About the image
NGC 7000, also known as the North America Nebula, is a vast emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus. Its characteristic shape is created by glowing clouds of ionized hydrogen crossed by dark lanes of interstellar dust. This image was created from multiple long exposures that were aligned and stacked to reveal structures too faint for the human eye to see clearly.
